Birds on a Line finds its roots in the view from Schwartz’s former studio in San Francisco’s Mission District. Like their real-world counterparts, these birds are individuals in quiet communion, perched together yet distinct in posture and presence.
Rendered in minimalist ink drawings, each bird carries a personality, a fleeting gesture frozen in time. Despite their simplicity, they animate the page with an understated vibrancy, reflecting Schwartz's gift for imbuing even the smallest forms with life and spirit.
