put together

Put Together (2006 - ongoing) assembled found material

Put Together emerged from Schwartz’s long-standing love of scavenging. Rescued from the garbage or found on the street, these objects carry their own histories and voices. Schwartz spends time in quiet observation, listening to the forms without imposing context, allowing the objects to reveal their individual nature. Through this process, they come together naturally, resulting in sculptural assemblage.

The process is guided entirely by the will of the objects themselves. They find one another through innate connections, assembling into new formations that transcend their former purposes. Schwartz’s role is that of an attentive collaborator, bringing them together in arrangements that honor their inherent character. In Put Together, the objects take on new life, reanimated through the relationships they form and the narratives they choose to share.
