DEath Room, 2015
Death Room is a communication of a feeling, a visual expression of a profound spiritual experience Schwartz had in 2015, in the room of her mother’s death. In that moment, she encountered a startling and beautiful shade of white unlike any she had ever seen before. These paintings are not depictions of an event but visualizations of a passage of energy, capturing the intangible through layers of oil on canvas.
Through this series, Schwartz translates the essence of that experience, allowing color, form, and texture to convey the weight, lightness, and movement of something beyond words. They hold space inside an encounter with the unseen, rendered visible.
